How to: Use a Handout Master when creating a presentation.
Solution:
Select the 'View' menu, select 'Master', and select 'Handout Master'.
1) Select the 'View' menu and select 'Master'. (The Master submenu appears.)
2) Select 'Handout Master'.
3) Do one of the following when adding the date and/or time:
a) To add the date and/or time to the placeholder:
1] Select the 'View' menu and select 'Header and Footer...'. (The Header and Footer dialog box appears.)
2] To insert the date and/or time to handouts, click 'Notes and Handouts' tab.
3] Select the desired check boxes in the 'Include on Page' group.
4] Fill in the desired information in the 'Include on Page' group.
5] Click 'Slide' tab.
6] Select the desired check boxes in the 'Include on Slide' group.
7] Fill in the desired information in the 'Include on Slide' group.
8] Click 'Apply to All'.
b) To add the date and/or time within text:
1] Select the text box to which the date and/or time is to be added.
NOTE: If there are no text boxes available, create one, using the 'Text Tool' toolbar button (with the 'A' on it) on the 'Drawing' toolbar.
2] Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Date and Time...'. (The Date and Time dialog box appears.)
3] Select the desired format from the 'Available Format' list box.
4] Click 'OK'.
4) Do one of the following when adding a page number:
a) To add the page number to the placeholder, follow steps 3)a)1] through 3)a)8].
b) To add the page number within text:
1] Select the text box to which the page number is to be added.
2] Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Page Number'.
